Saturn/Neptune

By transit to a natal chart, Saturn to Neptune or Neptune to Saturn is often a health event or concern.

In the world, there are events with the health of elderly people; water issues; bridges

When Saturn in Leo opposed Neptune, there were several events involving childrens' heath. Not all of the health events were negative. Here's one example, when the opposition was about 3' from exact:

A new, cheap, easy-to-take pill to treat malaria is being introduced March 1st, the first product of an innovative partnership between an international drug company and a medical charity…In Africa, malaria kills 3,000 babies and children each day. (3/1/07)

When Saturn and Neptune were 5' apart:
Pro wrestler Chris Benoit strangled his wife, suffocated his 7-year-old son before hanging himself with a weight-machine pulley as a result of "roid rage". (6/24/2007)

Saturn/Neptune contacts can actually be an indication of an attempt to stop drinking. Britney entered rehab when T.Neptune trined her N.Saturn

During past Saturn/Neptune contacts, issues concerning the health of the elderly have been in the news.

In July 2001, the House Government Reform Committee's Special Investigations Division issued a report which found that in the previous two years, over 30 percent of nursing homes in the U.S. were cited for a physical, sexual, or verbal abuse violation that had the potential to harm residents. Even more striking, the report found that nearly 10 percent of nursing homes had violations that caused actual harm to residents.

The contact sometimes corresponds to the dissolution of structures. The Berlin Wall came down during a conjunction of Saturn and Neptune in Capricorn (2 degrees 15' orb).

Bridges (across water, not metaphorical bridges) seem to be symbolized by Saturn/Neptune)

There is also a correspondence with droughts and water shortages and other problems with water. But these problems also occur when there are no Saturn/Neptune contacts.

Severe flooding across Europe...
President François Hollande declared a natural disaster for the region around Paris as days of torrential rain sent the Seine 18 feet above its typical level. The Louvre and Musée d’Orsay prepared to evacuate some of their masterpieces. The storm system, which caused flooding in much of central and northeastern France, also inundated southwestern Germany, killing at least nine.

Three soldiers were killed, three others injured and six were missing after a US Army truck was swept from a low-water crossing and overturned in a swollen creek at Fort Hood, Texas on Thursday.

Three days and three sunken ships are again confronting Europe with the horrors of its refugee crisis, as desperate people trying to reach the Continent keep dying at sea. At least 700 people from the three boats are believed to have drowned, the United Nations refugee agency announced on Sunday, in one of the deadliest weeks in the Mediterranean in recent memory.
The latest drownings push the death toll for the year to more than 2,000 people

WHAT WE HAVEN'T SEEN
In the past, we've seen events in the health of the elderly (nursing homes for example)

Alot has been written about the concrete vs. fantasy attributes of Saturn/Neptune, but the focus of Midpoint Observatory is on events rather than psychology.
