         Ceres also symbolizes fertility (fruit bearing), menstrual cycles and when they work that way there are menstrual issues, fertility issues, indirect reference to this is that there are significant adoption, childless.

·        Ceres also appears to symbolize animals, whether or not they're the kind eat.  Ceres/Chiron is in the  charts of people who help them, hurt them or get hurt by them.  More than half the veterinarians charts I looked at have Ceres/Chiron pictures.  As well as a livestock expert, consultant on meat production.

Saw it today in Christina Rosetti's h'scope.  Here's the plot of her most famous poem:  goblins who sell fruits. Wants fruit but has no money, a young girl offers a lock of her hair and "a tear more rare than pearl."  She gorges on the delicious fruit in and when she gets home, her sister reminds her about another girl who also ate the goblin's fruits and died after a horrible decline.

Also barking up the tree of Chiron/Ceres in the charts of people who have autoimmune disorders caused by food allergies.

Found eating disorders, concern about animal treatment (Grandin) and...HUNTERS.   Queen Elizabeth has Ceres=Chiron=Aries. 

So this is confirming my guess that Ceres also symbolizes animals.  If you know vets or animal activists (not just pet lovers)

CERES/CHIRON AND BACTERIA, ANTIBIOTICS AND VACCINES

Ceres/Chiron appears to correspond, at least in part, to bacteria, antibiotics and vaccines.  It's found in  the natal charts of some of those who made inroads in those fields, as well  marking the timing of the events.  The vaccines developed by Louis Pasteur (natal Ceres sextile Chiron 9' orb) resulted in the prevention and cure of diseases transmitted from animals to human beings as well as those diseases resulting from contaminated milk.  On April 20, 1862, with T.Chiron conjunct N. Ceres, Pasteur and his colleague came up with the process to prevent the spoilage of milk, wine and beer.  When he successfully injected his first patient again rabies, on July 6, 1875, T. Ceres=N. Ceres/Chiron midpoint and T. Chiron=N. Chiron.  On June 4, 1887, The Pasteur Institute opened, initially, to handle the huge influx of rabies patients.  P. Ceres=Ceres/Chiron (1' orb) and P. Pluto stationed 2' from the midpoint, where it remained for the rest of his life.  Donations flooded in as a  result of his success with rabies, although in the ensuing years the institute has widened its scope and treats many diseases.  (DOB 12/27/1882 2AM Dole, France)

Robert Koch, the founder of modern bacteriology was born with Ceres=Chiron (octile 20' orb).   His discovery, the result of inoculating rabbits with bacteria he had grown, occurred in December, 1875, with SR Aries=Ceres/Chiron  (11' orb).  At the same time, he had other Chiron pictures were also informative. The  first microbiologist, Antony Van Leeuwenhoek, who also developed an early version of the microscope, had variations of  the picture: N. Mars=Ceres/Chiron (no greater than 25' orb), N. Alexander Fleming (N. Asd and Mars=Ceres/Chiron 6' orb) known for his discovery of  penicillin, stumbled on antibiotics in 1928, when he noticed that the mold he was growing killed bacteria.  The SR contained Mars, Pallas and Neptune on the Ceres/Chiron midpoint.  Fleming's natal chart also contained a larger medical picture of Sun=Saturn=Neptune=Vulcanus as well as other pictures that involved Chiron and Ceres (although not in combination): Sun//Chiron, Jupiter conjunct Chiron and Ceres//Zeus.  (DOB 8/6/1881 2AM Loudon, Scotland)

When Senator Edward Kennedy introduced "The Preservation of Antibiotics for Human Treatment" on May 9, 2002, T. Chiron was conjunct N. Ceres.  (DOB 2/22/1932 2:38AM Dorchester, Mass.)

It should be noted that other giants in the field, such as Rene Dubos, who was said to have launched the antibiotic era in 1939,  had little or no Ceres/Chiron symbolism.

CERES/CHIRON AND FERTILITY

The myth of Ceres and Persephone describes the origin of  nature's cycles and periods of  fruitfulness.  Associated with motherhood itself, Ceres appears frequently with events connected with childbearing.  Chiron appears with some regularity with both healing and pathology.  There is evidence of  some correlation between the appearance of Ceres/Chiron and  particular circumstances in the process of birth as well as problematic childbearing issues,  menstrual and menopausal irregularities.  But other planetary symbolism also associated with these events (most often Venus/Zeus, less commonly Moon/Venus) in addition to or instead of a Ceres/Chiron emphases, make it impossible to associate Ceres/Chiron specifically or exclusively with these issues.

Ceres/Chiron appeared with the most regularity among the charts of 10 obstetricians.  

·        8 of the 10 had Ceres with Chiron or in a midpoint picture with Asd, MC or Sun by major aspect.

·        1 of the 10 had Ceres with Chiron or in a midpoint picture with the Moon by minor aspect.

·        4  of the 10 had Venus with Zeus or with a personal point by major aspect

·        3 of the 10 had non-personal points (Saturn, Neptune, Cupido or Vesta) on the Venus/Zeus midpoint, 2 by major aspect and one by minor aspect. (One had a major Venus/Zeus picture in addition to these minor aspects.)

·        1 of the 10 had a personal planet on the Moon/Venus midpoint by major aspect; 1 had personal point on the midpoint by minor aspect; 2 had non personal planets on the midpoint by major aspect; 1 had non personal planet at the midpoint by minor aspect

Louis Ferdinand Celine: Ceres conjunct Chiron 37' orb; Sun=Moon/Venus 22' orb (DOB 5/27/1894 4PM Paris) Born on the same day was Dashiell Hammet, afflicted by TB, mentioned among the diseases which may be associated with Ceres/Chiron.  As a result of his health, he could not live with his children full-time.

CERES/CHIRON IN LITERATURE

Authors with Ceres/Chiron aspects often convey the characteristic themes, including animals that jeopardize or are victimized by human beings; and food/vegetation which doesn't nourish, is poisonous or rotting.   

In "The Story of the Three Bears", the tidy  trusting, harmless bears become victims of a dirty, badly behaved old woman who invades their home, eats their porridge and breaks their furniture.  The author, Robert Southey was born with N. AP=Ceres/Chiron 5' orb.  Years later, another author replaced the woman with young and beautiful Goldilocks, changing the story entirely.  ⁴⁸

Poet Laureate Alfred Lord Tennyson's natal chart contains a T-square of Chiron conjunct MC opposite Sun and square to Chiron  39' orb.   Among his most famous poems is "The Kraken" ⁴⁹,the tale of a monstrous sea animal that devours ships.

Tennyson's poem  "The Lotos-Eaters" ⁵⁰ describes fruits both enchanting and destructive:
